ZipScript
Since Logos acquired WordSearch... and ZipScript is part of WordSearch... then I would gander that ZipScript should be available to all Logos users.
And I suggest.... that if you don't have Zipscript and can get it.... by all means get it! Believe me it's worth it!!

Not being a WordSearch user I may misunderstand but I thought ZipScript was a utility to run instead of WordSearch.

ZipScript was a utility to run with WordSearch. Now it runs with Logos...
I have it to load automatically when I start my computer. I use it that much. I specifically use it with Notes and Sermon Builder in Logos. I use it with MS Word, Excel, and with Powerpoint.
I set it up so that I hit "Ctrl+shift+Z" and ZipScript pops up... I enter the passage I want to insert into my document, press enter, and walla.... the passage appears in the document I am working with. You can change the format of the way you want the passage to appear although the choices are limited. You can also change the "keys" to call it up.
I have not found anything that ZipScript won't work with.
But I find it enhances the programs that I do work with. And it sure beats "copy and paste" !!
But that's one man's opinion.... [:D]

I am still using ZipScript, but I always assumed it worked because I had WordSearch installed on my PC.
Do you have WordSearch installed on your PC? Or is ZipScript pulling the data from Logos?
If it's pulling the content from Logos, this is GREAT news.0 -
Zipscript only works if Wordsearch is installed and has bibles in it. Even though Zipscript runs outside of Wordsearch it still needs it installed. It does not work with Logos.

It's kind of funny, when I emailed logos support about what to do when WordSearch was retired, they offered this alternative method.

1. Click Tools > Passage > Copy Bible Verses2. Type a passage or pericope in the Reference box and press Enter, or first choose a pericope and passage from the suggested matches that display while typing. Users can type multiple passages separated by a semicolon, for example gen1.1; jn1.1–3.3. Choose a style from the list (Fully Formatted is the default).4. Choose a Bible version from the list.5. Choose a program from the program list.6. Click the Copy and Paste button, if available, to copy the text and paste it automatically into the document.7. If Copy and Paste is greyed out, click Copy to copy the text, open the desired program and document, and paste the text using the commands appropriate to the destination program.~~~~~~~~~~~I'll probably retire from ministry before I learn to love that. Scott - I agree that ZipScript was the cat's meow. I've found something similar in Logos - finally.
If I have Logos running in the background and with the document open in Word (or even here), I can press Control-Alt-B and a box comes up that lets me enter Bible text and copy and paste.
So that's helpful...for me.

I'm happy for you... But can you get it to work in PowerPoint or email or etc. etc.??? ZipScript worked with it all... I even use in my Logo Notes and Sermon Builder.... I'm surely gonna miss it if it stops working... [:(]

Yes. It's not specific to Word. It's a system-level shortcut. From the Help manual:
Ctrl+Alt+B – Global shortcut to open Copy Bible Verses tool in a floating window from any Windows application (if Logos is running).

Yeah - it works wherever I am, provided that Logos is running in the background.
Sometimes it doesn't paste automatically. But the Bible passage is on my clipboard, so contrl-v is my friend. [:)]No doubt, ZipScript was slicker. But this is very workable. [H]
Too bad none of the Logos tech I talked with knew about it. [:O]

Ok... what am I doing wrong??? I open Powerpoint... create a new slide and click on a text box.... then do CTRL+ALT+B... type in my verse.... and press enter......
Next thing that happens..... MS Word opens up with a blank page with the verse I wanted pasted in it. But Powerpoint did not have the verse pasted into it.
My conclusion..... Ctrl+Alt+B only works with MS Word.
Edit #1: I found the problem.... you have to change "to Microsoft Word" to whatever you are pasting to. And looks like choices are limited.
So looks like it is a work around.... Thanks for letting me know about it.
Edit #2: I'm sorely gonna miss ZipScript when it's gone. (sniff, sniff... whaaaa [:'(])

How about Excel, Logos Sermon Builder, etc. (I know Sermon Builder has a "way" of adding passages... so just saying).
With ZipScript.... well it just works with everything. Don't have to choose.
If "Ctrl-Alt-B" could be made to work with the currently opened file, regardless of the file (no choosing file types), then we would have ZipScript in Logos.... Bingo, Bango, Bongo!!! What a world that would be!!!

I just tried it in Excel and it worked. Just select "other" as the place to send it and it copies the verse to the clipboard so Ctl-V pastes it into your document.

My Zip script still works on my desktop because it already had Wordsearch Bible installed. But I purchased a laptop and there is no way to install Zip Script on the laptop because Logos has taken the Wordsearch Bible Download offline. And. If I ever have to reinstall windows on my desktop, I'll lose Zip Script on it too. I wish Logos would allow us to reinstall Wordsearch Bibles so we could reinstall Zip Script.

As I miss Houdini ... one of the first hypertext tools. I strongly suspect that ZipScript was not included in the legal documents related to the purchase of WordSearch.

You get a new computer. Now you can't use Zip Script because you can't install Wordsearch Bible on your new computer. I have found a work around. On your old computer copy the folder C:\ProgramData\Wordsearch. Paste it to your new computer. Copy zipscript.exe from \C:\Program Files (x86)\Wordsearch 12 and paste it to your new computer. Worked for me. Maybe it will work for you.

The death of Zscript is coming soon, unless Logos implements a feature identical to it by enhancing copy verse. Maybe create a copy verse feature named “Zscript mode.” Otherwise, goodbye to Zscript, you served a lot of people well 👏

No download available for WS - I tried an old disk but my computer just said "what's this?"
