Minimalist user needing to update software--Please help me not mess this up
I'm an occasional user at most; you can tell by the fact that I'm now finally getting around to trying to figure out a problem I've been having for ... quite a while.
I'm on Logos 6, and I haven't been able to connect to my account when opening the software. I am able to work offline, so I didn't care too much. I eventually realized that this was because I was still on 6, and the rest of you have moved as far as 9.
I want to get the Basic package. Is it as simple as downloading the software from the website (which I can log on to), and letting it do its thing? I want to avoid losing any resources and having to pick through and download them all again, and also avoid having both versions installed on the computer.
Clearly, not a power computer user, not a power Logos user, so please go easy on me.
Mike

Yes. Get the free Logos Basic which may add just a few resources, but will not eliminate any you already have.
Depending on the size of your library you may encounter some large downloads to update your resources to the latest editions. This is unavoidable.
Give yourself some time to get everything updated, downloaded, and indexed. It will require very little interaction from you, just giving some permissions and, perhaps, opening and closing the application a couple of times to get everything downloaded and installed.
I hope at some point your budget and interest will allow you to invest in some of the new features found in Logos 9. You can check out the base packages and their upgrade costs or look just at the feature sets as a possible upgrade.
The web site has many introductory videos. When you have tinme it would be good to check them out to see what Logos 9 is capable of.

Welcome [:D]
Logos Wiki => Logos Release History includes for Logos 6:
- Offline only as of 10 Dec 2018 (due to a security upgrade on Faithlife servers so older Logos versions cannot connect)

Yes with proviso of having adequate free space and stable network connection so Logos 9 software upgrade can download & index resource additions/updates along with dataset additions/upgrades.
Thankful for two free Basic packages => Logos 9 Basic & => Verbum 9 Basic (resources can be used in Logos and/or Verbum so purchase of Verbum 9 Basic does not require Verbum installation)

Thanks to both of you, glad to hear that it should be a smooth enough transfer. Looking forward to seeing the upgrades in person.

Curious about computer operating system ?
Logos Help Center (LHC) includes
Logos 6 was supported on older operating systems (not viable for Logos 9 installation).
