M1 24" iMac Performance

Have had my M1 24" Mac for a few weeks.  An upgrade from a 21.5" iMac 10 years old.  16gb memory, 500gb disc.  L9 indexing library much much faster.  I don't do heavy lifting searches yet, but so far, I'm very happy with the performance.  At age 78, this is probably my last computer.  If it lasts 10 years like my previous iMac, that will be just fine.

Why so much RAM?  I run MS Windows and MS PowerPoint concurrently when preparing teaching lesson plan and wanted to minimize swapping.  Don't know if the unified memory design of the M1 would have been happy with 8gb, but for a few hundred dollars more, it made since to be on the safe side.

Looking forward to L9 running native although for me the current use of Rosetta as an emulator hasn't presented any problems.

This statement sparked my interest. Might I ask why?

Is the Mac Version of Powerpoint lacking in some way?
