I am trying to delete some personal books. When I right-click on the book the delete 'sign" is greyed out and I am unable to delete the book. I am not in edit mode.
Any suggestions on how to delete a personal book?

Where are you trying to delete the personal book? In the personal book builder tool? In the library?
The project can be deleted. The book cannot. You can "hide" the book, however.
What has worked for some of us is to just overwrite the book with a new name and new file.
What I do is I have a file: DummyPBB.docx. When I want to get rid of a PBB I change the name to 00DUMMYxxx where xxx is a number 000 - 999.
And use the file DummyPBB.docx. I use the 00 in the name so that it sorts first in the list of PBB resources.
Then when I want to build a new PBB I just over write the last 00DUMMYxxx with a real PPB.docx file and use a real name.
When I want to get rid of a PBB I change the name to 00DUMMYxxx where xxx is a number 000 - 999. And use the file DummyPBB.docx.

I presume you recompile the PB so that it exists in Library with the title 00DUMMYxxx?
It now appears that Logos does not allow one to delete in the PB tool if the PB has been uploaded, which avoids leaving 'orphan' books in Library. Do you take advantage of being able to completely remove a PB that has not been uploaded?

The PB identity is fixed but the metadata can change as with Faithlife resources where you can alter the Title, Abbrev Title, Series name, etc.

Yes, if I build a PBB over the old one on my main PC the resulting metadata is correct for the last build of the book [and I understand the metadata is totally over written with each rebuild of the book] . But if I rebuild it [rather than using the scan feature] on the second PC does the system realize that it is the same book or is it seen as two books with the same name, one built on each PC? [Can't get to it today but will try sometime soon and see if the file name of the two PBB is the same on both PCs]

As all the information in the PB tool is sync'd it will be the same resource, so Logos will replace the existing file in the Resources folder. Unless it is uploaded, Logos doesn't care about different versions on your PCs e.g. if you build from a different version of the source file.

Good luck. You can't. Faithlife doesn't care about the problem because it doesn't benefit them to fix it. Just as Faithlife deliberately has given us a broken, nearly useless import tool for Personal Books.
You have expressed your disappointment in other threads but have ignored their advice, which was also given in this thread to the OP i.e. hide them from Library (filter with edition:user). They are deleted from your computer.

I took Dave's advise and deleted them from my hard drive. I noticed that I could still download them if I wanted them back on the hard drive.

The above post from Father Gregory said he deleted it from his hard drive - does this mean the compiled book and if so, where do I find this compiled book?
On which forum can I ask questions regarding inter alia of how to insert the language code for Hebrew / Greek words in a Bible verse as well the use of "headwords".
