I know we're still a bit off before Logos 10 is released or even enters into beta. When Logos 10 is available for beta testing, though, I'm willing to test it out.
Thanks!

No idea how you get chosen. I was in on V4 but never since then.
I believe many of the heavy forum users are testers sometimes but I would guess it is more than post count. I would love to do it too again but they will choose who they choose.
I would suggest that if you are really interested in beta testing 10 and you actually have the time to do so, that you let Phil Gons know. Tell him what perspective you can bring to the table -- he needs people who can test everything from the very simple use to the very techinical use; he needs people from personal study, Bible study teacher, preacher, faith development, seminary student, preacher, pastor, academic . . .; he needs a good mix of theological stances especially more of the groups treated as marginal by the average Logos user; he needs a mix of technology - desktop, laptop, tableet, mobile-- up to date and older/slower/smaller. I am not implying that letting Phil know you are interested will get you into the beta testing group nor am I saying let's flood Phil with requests to be in the group. I am saying that if you are genuinely able to devote the time and have skills to bring to the table that are under-tested, I think Phil would consider you.
Good info. I can let him know.
I may or may not have beta tested Logos 9. I can't say for sure. One day I was comfortably using Logos, and the next day I was taken to a secret facility with some agents who told me a bunch of stuff then later blanked out my memory. The next thing I remember is I woke up and Logos 9 was officially released, and I was pleased with myself for some possible contribution I might have made that I can't remember. :-)
All kidding aside, it is always fun to beta test major Logos releases since any beta testing I do would be putting it through my regular daily academic workflow.
It was fun the one time I was on a Logos Beta test... I'd always be interested as well. Plenty of IT background and use both Windows and have been working on the port to Linux via Wine for a couple years.
Keep me posted on the Linux port via Wine. I plan to do more with Linux in the future.
I was a tester for L9 and wish to continue.
Bob
As an IT person who supports a teacher using it for his classes I would love to know what's coming and would be interested in testing as well.
Hey Nathan,
Many of us find the current functioning to be worthy of a Daily Driver. The two major function issues relate to Read Aloud not working and Video not playing. If you can live without that, overall Logos on Linux runs quite well.
One major workaround needed, is to keep a backup of your Data, User and Documents folders - a nasty bug has crept in that deletes everything on updates. With the folders backed up, it adds the extra step of running the update and copying those folders back, but works well afterward.
Printing has been working well too.
You can keep up with the action on WineHQ - https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=39484
Also you can join the Logos on Linux Telegram Group - https://t.me/linux_logos
I had rarely ever used the multimedia, whether Read Aloud or the Video on the Desktop Install in Windows, my primary use for Read Aloud was the Mobile App and usually the Faithlife TV App to view Videos on the television. So those two issues didn't bother me much.
One of the Wine Devs is working on EVR implementation and other aspects of multimedia work for Wine - which once fully implemented should allow the Video to work. There was a work around for video a while back on Logos 8, but something changed either with the move to Logos 9 or within Wine that no longer allows the Workaround.
You can follow the work by the Dev - https://github.com/wine-mirror/wine/commits?author=nsivov
John Goodman did an excellent and extensive test of Logos on Linux that could be found at the WineHQ link above
Good info. I don't use Read Aloud. Videos I could watch on the Faithlife TV app or web app.
It'd be about a year to year in a half before I'd have a chance to really test Logos on Linux, but this is fantastic news.
I am interested in beta testing version 10, I use Logos daily for devotions!!

Welcome Shelley! [:)]
No need to beta test, L10 was released today and is availble to purchase now.
