Looking for OT Commentaries on par with Life Application Bible Commentary

As a layman who teaches an adult Bible study class, I'm a huge fan of the Life Application Bible Commentary Series. I find the format and the not-too-scholarly approach to be just right for my taste. Any recommendations for an OT commentary series that would be comparable to LABC?
Thanks,
Ralph

Take a look at Courson's Application Commentary. There are two OT volumes and one covering the NT.

From my experience with the Holman Old Testament Commentary series and Wiersbe’s Old Testament “Be” series, they seem to have the same feel as the Life Application Commentary series.

I've found this site to be a lot of help answering that question:

This has been the most accurate assessment so far! NIVAC is ok, but reads more like a manuscript that you literally have to read to find some applications that may not be all that great. With Holman and BE series you get outline type sermon mini manuscripts that are way easier to read and a whole lot more practical.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I was able to get the series + 5x NCCS in a Logos 8 Legacy Library for a bargain price; which lead to a pre-order for the remainder of NCCS (from the 17 volume collection).
