Need to move all highlights of a certain style into a notebook
Hi,
If I’m not mistaken, I'm trying to solve the same problem that Michael was trying to solve in https://community.logos.com/forums/t/188372.aspx.
My situation is as follows:
I have about 3,550 green highlights (amongst a total of about 28,000 highlights of various colors in various books). Those 3,550 green highlights are especially important to me. So I want to be able to export them to a Word document (or something), so that I can review them separately (and maybe upload them to Readwise).
If I am not mistaken, in order to be able to export those 3,550 green highlights (and those only), I first need to put them (and only them) into a particular Notebook. Then I will be able to Print/Export.
So, I suppose my question is:
Is there no simple/automatic way to accomplish this, other than to manually look through all the 3,550 green highlights one by one? I certainly hope there is!
Thank you.

There is no satisfactory output that would include:-
- Bible reference and
- text with the actual highlight
Export from an Inline Search in XPS format shows the actual text highligh but only a partial reference. Other formats are deficient.
Export from a Notebook is crude - text with no reference.
From a Bible Search Exported to Word:
The text is highlighted differently, but it comes from a search for the actual highlight.
All the highlights will be shown unless you have multiple results in a verse.
From a Basic Search Exported to Word:
As a Basic Search, the output won't show all the results (only the first in an article is shown). So there is a problem if you have Green highlights in non-bible resources.
What do you want? Do you have Green highlights in non-bible resources?

Hi Mr. Hooton,
Many thanks for your reply.
Actually, almost all of my highlights are from non-Bible books. I rarely highlight biblical text.
As far as I can tell, the easiest way to solve my problem is to do a Basic Search for a highlight style, and then do a Export/Print. But unfortunately, the results only show about 30 words each. This is no good, since many of my highlights are a few sentences long.
So I assume I'm at a deadend?

And as Dave points out above, you don't get all the results, just the first in an article.

I'm afraid I can't see a way forward on this.

The options that have promise for non-bible resources are limited by the Search or a crude Export implementation, so we are at a deadend!

I see. Well, thank you for that.
I think I will have to do a Basic Search for all those highlights, and then manually re-highlight those sentences with a style that is linked to a Notebook.

??
If you did that, then Export per Resource (in Notes tool), to give you some control:
You can change the "Notes" heading to reflect the resource.
