I am in a new position as a library director/assc. prof. at Vanguard University. We make the "Student Essentials" mini-library available to our students. I'm used to working with seminarians who have Logos installed on their computers, but in our context, we are dealing with first-year undergraduates who are just breaking into biblical studies and are using a variety of interfaces. One thing that helps with teaching students how to accomplish certain tasks is to use the Logos 9 Web App. I just recently found out that one can make URL links to different "layouts" and I made a few pre-set layouts for this class:

  • Hebrew Word Study - The Lexham English Bible (LEB) linked to the Word Study Guide and the Lexham Analytical Lexicon of the Hebrew Bible (LXHEBANLEX). Click on any English word in the LEB, and you will be able to study the related Hebrew term in the Word Study Guide and view the lexical entry in the LXHEBANLEX.
  • Greek Word Study - The Lexham English Bible (LEB) linked to the Word Study Guide and the Lexham Analytical Lexicon to the Greek New Testament (LXGRANLEX). Click on any English word in the LEB, and you will be able to study a specific Greek term in the Word Study Guide and view the lexical entry in the LXGRANLEX.
  • Devotional Bible - The Lexham English Bible (LEB), the Faithlife Study Bible (FSB) notes, and the Lexham Textual Notes on the Bible (LTNB) all connected to the Connect the Testaments: A 365-Day Devotional with Bible Reading Plan. Enter the month and day in the devotional panel, and then click the links to the specific passages to view the Bible and appropriate notes along with a devotional teaching for the day.
  • Text Comparison Tool with LEB & CSB - The Lexham English Bible (LEB) is linked with the Text Comparison tool and the Christian Standard Bible (CSB). The Text Comparison panel will display the differences between the LEB and the CSB. Experiment with the various settings (⋮) in the Text Comparison panel to view the differences in different ways.

These are very simple layouts designed for students who just starting to make the jump into word studies, etc.

What layouts have you found helpful in the Logos 9 Web App?

I'm particularly interested in layouts that are limited to the 'free' mini-libraries that Logos makes available, but I'd be interested in seeing other possibilities as well.
