What is the chance that Saint Bede the Venerable logos4:Factbook;ref=bio.saintbedevenerable was Episcopal given:

  • He died 8 centuries before the Reformation
  • He died 9 centuries before Christians showed up in America ... a prerequisite for being the earliest Episcopalian

It seems that you could run some reasonableness edits to avoid such obvious errors ... it would increase users' faith in your data.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Corrected: he's now associated with the Medieval Era era of Christians.

We've been adding some validation checks to try and flag these kinds of consistency problems (a continuing challenge across more than 110k authors, and multiple sources of data): your heuristic is a good one that we'll implement.
