Autumn is here, evening temperatures are getting crispy, and time for a gripping read.
There's several Logosian angles in this book (not yet in Logos):
- Two competing guys and lots of deadends. One has the advantage of in-depth coptic (pre-Logos)
- Scholarly guessing at its worst. When you don't know, just guess (scholarly, of course).
- A bit of history ... Christian destruction of old Egypt and its writing, dead language survival, etc
- And yes, almost cryptography ... seemed like
