Logos doesn't have any of Spong's books in its curated library. For many years Ehrman was only represented by his opponents (similar to the church fathers!). I think there's an Ehrman in prepub.
The problem, at least in my experience, is the pew-team had greater familiarity with the 'wolves' than the shepherd-team ... and ordered the new volumes quickly.
This volume was Spong's final, written before a stroke, and finished after therapy (recently died).
Absent ones beliefs, it's a good theology-logic for a well intensioned church leader, who lost confidence in the Bible's literal interpretation, but was trying hard to remain linked to both Jesus and God. How did he do that, and where were his weak links?
Ehrman largely arrived at a similar junction. When asked in his blog, his weak links weren't the Bible issues per se, but the Diety. That surprised me.
