Welcome back to the forum!
Both lexical and discourse analysis are hugely broad areas. Theological? Critical? Historical? Sermon prep? Academic project? And many more.
It might be jelpful to narrow down?

Wow, your project designer was both broadminded (BDAG and Thayer in the same sentence), but terribly sneaky (John 1). It seems to me, picking the right word can be an easy 20 pages, or a disasterous 1 page.
The obvious is 'word' but you'll quickly run out of lexical (mainly theological). Others like darkness, power, overcome and even generation have considerably more greek narritive to work with. If I were you, I'd select a bunch, and then just see how much depth for each one is in BDAG (as a quick test).
Remember the Lexham Greek NT Analytical is a good kitchen-sink source ... they really packed a lot into each entry, including LXX usage, hebrew-base, etc

Here are the instructions:
Since your prof suggest Lexham Theological Wordbook, I'm guessing he/she is familiar with Logos.
The 5 elements of the assignment seem like he/she wants you to open a Bible Word Study tool and work through the sections.
