How to prevent verse references from popping-up in Notes

I've searched everywhere but I probably just missed it. How do I prevent a verse reference pop-up in a Note? For example, if I don't want for an entire chapter reference in a Note to create a pop-up  -- like Mark 3 ... it always creates a pop-up but sometimes I don't want that to occur.

Thanks!

If I understand you correctly I don’t think this is possible

The software assumes that when we enter a reference it should be hyperlinked to a transaction so we can easily access it

What issue is this causing you?

Not the best solution, but maybe type it as Mark Three or Mark ch3.

Not a huge issue, really. I just thought there would be a way to bypass the pop-up for text that's too long or redundant to display. In some cases I have several pop-up links jumbled together that aren't really needed. For example, a sentence that says, "In <chapter 1> and <chapter 2> we find [the larger general context]. <Chapter 1.3-5> reads... [immediate subject matter]." So I have a lot of pop-up links I don't necessarily need in the context.

It's not a big deal, I just assumed there was probably a way to do it.

    Thank you!

Just select the reference and click on the link icon in the toolbar. Type in something invalid, like "null", and click Save.

Thanks Steve. EDIT I just saw this response today and tried it out. It seemed to work at first, but then the link eventually returns.
