Issue with freezing up
Hi. Installed the mobile yesterday. Discovered a problem. While watching the webinar I saw I can double tap a word in the Bible and it will open a pop up with information on the word. Well mind goes part way and freezes up requiring me to close the app. I get the pop up with some information on the word but the app is frozen. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
I have logos on my windows laptop with windows 11 and it’s super.

O, I forgot to add it’s a iPhone XR with 128 gigs and iOS 15.1, most recent version of logos. I have removed it several times from my device with no help.

This is an "online only" feature. Have you experimented with internet connections?
Not to contradict, but I keep concise/abridged lexicons in my library, just for double-clicks ... works offline.
There's a similar behavior if you click on a ref, and the resource is not on your mobile ... you get a white space and appearing to lock up (2 tricks to unlock).
But on a popup with info but no lookup, it usually says you need a dictionary in ios.

I don't remember the details, but there is a limited group of resources which that works with... but I am fairly certain it isn't English bibles. I assumed that was what the OP was referring to.

Hi all. Ok so. I downloaded several of my lexicons and tried it again and it still locks up. So Not sure why it is doing this. Morris Proctor used the ESV fo this function and it worked. I don’t want to download everything to get this one function to work on my iPhone. I have the automatic lookup turned off because it’s the only thing that doesn’t. Work right. And I do have a decent internet connection. I have the word study available so I don’t feel I am missing anything. I don’t want the app to be cumbersome to my iPhone.

...and you were testing with the ESV as well, right? And you own the ESV, and don't have it as "Free to use," right? Those two things would be good to clarify.

Where do you see this setting?
Based upon the posts by both you and DMB, I tried using the lookup with the ESV. I used some words from John 3. It worked online (original language) and offline (English only).

Well. I don’t know. Every time I try to do a look up on a word it freezes. Not sure I am explaining things very well. It’s not the end of the world if that function doesn’t work. I sent information to Logos. So I will wait to see what they say. Thanks for the input. One thing is that it works great on my laptop and that’s what counts.

Well, duh. You're on a RI. George sits in one of Jesus' many mansions upstairs, and pulls your chain now and then.
I wonder if the difference is meant to frustrate you during Bible class. Like getting the overhead to work.

Yes, and I assume that is what the OP was using as well.
I believe it is good for people to know trigonometry and original languages, but when it came time to study I spent all my time on history. I did so because I was told "if you don't learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it." I got an "A."
