There are more than 50 scripture passages that are used as Canticles using only representative service books for Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, Eastern Church, and Coptic use. These passages are often well known without knowledge of their scriptural context. In fact, they are well known musical compositions often under the name of their Latin incipit. A dataset including the passage, it's Latin incipit name, traditions using it, scriptural speaker, scriptural addressee ... would be helpful for Scriptural study, study of scripture in art, and service planning.
