Had to Give Up on Verbum, Sadly Enough
Everything was going great on my new MBP ... I downloaded my two FL mobile apps, Verbum and Biblia ... work great.
Then, I spied a book I wanted to read, and clicked it for download. It said, no can do. But being an experienced mobilite, I simply chose the menu-download, and watched it download. Success.
But not. Displaying the book locked the app. So, I killed the app and re-tried ... didn't get far ... already locked up. So, I deleted the app. Closed the web-connect to cut any buffers. Re-started and re-downloaded the app. Locked up. Verbum got torched.
Oh well. I switched religions, and downloaded Logos. Works.

What is MBP? [MacBook Pro ??]
Also what resource (book) ??? Maybe there is something wrong with that resource? [There maybe a valid reason it said no to the load]
Also what version of Verbum fails (assume latest) Also what operating system and rev? [Re 'new MBP' assume latest]

Yes .. MacBook Pro M1 latest.
But let's be clear ... it's the latest Verbum mobile app, running in the macOS environment. So, it has no assurances from anybody (FL, Apple, etc).
Now, after I changed religions, I tried the same book on the Logos app (I'm not terribly smart). It delivered a blank display, but no lockup. Granted, if it did lock up, I'd be running out of religions. FL has only so many apps.
Now, it does run fine on the ipad ... book not a problem 'normally'.
Regarding which book (Advances, as below). In app.logos.com, it shows as 2 volumes: on the app as one:
Maybe there's a bad-boy copy on the FL server.

I've had some problems with the latest version of Verbum when I have downloaded new resources.
I had to keep restarting my entire computer, not just the app.
Once the resources are settled, everything seems fine. But this happened twice to me after I bought a new resource.

Yeh! ... it's a bit like running the Beta, fun to play with but not likely to work every time.
I haven't heard the least hint from Faithlife that they are going to devote any resources to making the iOS or iPadOS apps work on the desktops.
I think that if it does work, some of the time this should be considered as a lucky happenstance.

Well, you're right. It's sort of like getting your kite stuck in the tree. 'Gosh darn tree!'. I think it's the book ... my other books are fine. I'm not sure what gets 'left over' in macOS when you delete an app ... or if macOS is fully functional with ios app structures.
I was really enthused with the M1 and ios apps ... the Logos desktop wants a minimum 12g download ... and who knows the updates .... and cellular service. Don't think so.
Oddly, their documentation offers software download only. Sigh.
