The specific example I am thinking of here is the Tyndale Commentary series:
Does one have to order the cd-roms from the Logos website to have them unlocked in their Logos 4, or can you order them from any website and somehow import them?
The Tyndale commentaries are a technically published by a third party. They come with a serial number designed to be activated in Libronix (L3). This means when you buy the CDs you have to either install Libronix and then activate the serial number (then it will be detected by Logos 4 and will download for it), or you can call Logos' customer service and have them read the serial number to them over the phone. This process would be the same whether or not you buy it from Logos.com or some other retailer.
Of course, Logos would prefer you buy the CDs through them [:)]
thanks!
or you can just download them for either L3 or L4 or both. I downloaded them to L4, then my L3 CD never arrived, so I downloaded them and Logos gave me a refund on the postage for the CD that went AWOL!
Some resources still aren't available for download, see for example http://www.logos.com/products/details/1915 I ordered the disc, but it got damaged in transport, got in contact with customer service to hopefully unlock the serial number for it and download, but alas, I couldn't and had to wait for another disc
Matthew,
I purchased my CD from another retailer. I'm a Logos newbie, having never used it before until this summer. Although I thought I had activated my set via L3 (which comes with the CD), I could never download the file in L4. I had to call Logos to activate the product. Customer Service or Sales at Logos can do this for you. Logos has outstanding staff and support!
I just got a resource CD from Logos in the mail. In it, a note says that L4 "does not use serial numbers to unlock resources. To activate your new product, please give us a call at 800-875-6467, M-F, 6am-5pm (PST)."

That's great for those in the US and Canada, but a bear for those in other places. I hope Logos will restore the unlock function in Logos 4 for folks who find calling Logos difficult and expensive.

Reminder to Dave in Australia - don't buy CD products!
Shipping and duties would be a bear, too, I'd imagine.

Its just a pain when you can't download the resource. You can email customer service and they can unlock it for you. They're response time is quite good again.
