Logos Bible software?
I don't have $1000 dollar to spend on this software and was wondering what the best free software that would be similar to this is? To foster discussion please state the pros & cons and why your suggestion is the best.

Jason, welcome!
Over the past few years, I have slowly been using Logos more, and other software less.
My first investment in Logos was not a Biblical resource, but one that I intended to use to help me write a paper for a SECULAR general education class at my community college. I cite the Britannica Great Books set a lot when I write academic papers, and the most affordable and convenient set was the Logos set, which is half price this weekend.

As well as secular papers, Logos is a lot easier to use to write papers for religious classes at accredited schools that have the same type of citation requirements as secular schools.
I still use my other software for my own private study, and study that I need outside of accredited academia. At some point that might change, or it might not. God is in control of my finances and what jobs he assigns to me to complete. It is His job to supply me with what I need to do what He wants, and not my job to fret over it all, or weaken myself trying to do more than He assigned.
There is a free version of Logos and also a free version of Verbum. You can purchase and read books in the free versions like you can read books in the Free Kindle app. As well as read books, there are some free search tools and guides beyond simply reading your books. Every month, Logos and Verbum give away free books. The books from both sites can be read in both softwares.
I personally prefer the the free and Fundamentals versions of Verbum to Logos. I think Verbum at the entry level offers more features, guides, tools, etc. Verbum is generally Catholic and Logos is generally Protestant, but it is not quite that simple or black and white.
Fundamantal packages for new users are $100.00, but if you search or ask around, someone can probably link you to a 50% off coupon. A Fundamantals package for $50.00 is a good bargain! A free/Fundamantals package and the free books each month is all some people will need. Especially to supplement another free software full of free public domain titles.

Another issue to consider is that many of us that struggle to afford Logos, also struggle to own the hardware needed to run powerful software. Right now the government is giving away free wifi, and often the providers of this temporary free wifi will supply you with a refurbished laptop or desktop at a special discount what is powerful enough to run logos.
I am on a extremely low income. I sleep on a blow up mattress, and live in such primitive housing that I have to lug drinking water home from half a mile away because I cannot drink what comes from the tap. But I have invested in Logos. God is preparing me for something. Logos is increasingly becoming part of my preparation.
May the Lord guide you!

Or you could use e-sword. Lots of free resources, has a word processor to write sermons and it’s easier to use. At some point you’ll still have to pay for premium resources like BECNT, PNTC and others.

You can always get the basic version and then piecemeal resources. Get the free book of the month every month. Wait for sales. The starter base package is only $249, not $1,000. You can also do Faithlife Connect.
