Deleting Notes

With each new iteration of the Mac version, I have looked for a way to delete an individual note (not a note file).  My understanding is that hovering the mouse should produce an "x" that can be clicked on to delete the note, but nothing I do produces an x.  Am I missing something here?

Jim - Yes you are missing the little x that deletes the note.
