Origen's Hexapla, was a heroic attempt by the head of the Didaskaleon of Alexandria in the third century, to compare and purify the existing Greek texts. What is a good resource on this topic?

Well, the hexapla is spread throughout Logos; even the Lexham Dictionary has a good article; ditto ABD.
My favorite is from Use of the Septuagint in N.T. Research. Of course, the reason being the LXX was the subsequent victim of Hexapla interpolations.
