1) Be in verse in bible resource pane
2) Paste in new verse - I was doing Esther 8:11 - and press [Return]
3) Logos stays in original verse and overwrites the second verse text
I tried various permutations - from John 20:1 I could type in verse from another NT book, I could type in Esther 8 and that would work and from that I could get Esther 8:1-17 (chapter) and change that to Esther 8:11 but from another (NT) book not.
On further testing I found the problem is if you highlight original verse and paste the new verse replacing text of original then it does not work (pasted text seems to be rejected).
