Audio Bibles with Logos… specifically NLT

Greetings.

I am wanting to switch all my annual Bible plan reading to Logos this coming year. Usually, along with other study, I listen to the NLT audio Bible throughout the year.

I have noticed there does not appear to be a way to purchase the NLT audio Bible through Logos. Did I miss it?
If this is the case, does anyone know if there is a work around?

Perhaps I can import it somehow? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums. I don't use an audio Bible and whilst the following are more formal translations, you can access the following free of charge:

    https://www.logos.com/product/34146/esv-hear-the-word-audio-bible

    https://www.logos.com/product/6162/lexham-english-bible-leb-with-audio-new-testament

    https://www.logos.com/product/47063/lexham-english-bible-audio-new-testament

I know the above doesn't answer your questions but it may offer an alternative.

does anyone know if there is a work around?

What is your rationale for wanting it in Logos? I ask, because I wonder if you have a misunderstanding of what it would actually do in logos if you were able to purchase it.

There are a very limited number of "read aloud" resources. The ESV is one, the LEB NT is another. With those resources, you can have the audio "read along" with you. For most every other "audio book" in Logos, you simply have an audio book with an inferior audio player.

On the other hand: Bibles are different than most audiobooks in that users may want to navigate rather than start at the beginning and progress linearly to the end. Navigation is underwhelming for many of these resources on most platforms. My suggestion? Just use the YouVersion app (or bible.com).

JT- The thought process is trying to consolidate all my different devotionals, study, etc into one place if I can.

I find myself using so many different apps and notes that things sometimes feel very spread out. It may not be possible but it was a thought to try to listen to the NLT while following along with the software. I use YouVersion for it now but my app has been getting worse and worse with freezing up and such.

Anyway, it’s one of those things that I not going to cry myself to sleep over if it doesn’t work. Just wondering if I can consolidate.

I also am trying to consolidate more. I am becoming increasingly dependent on audio recordings and text-to-speech features as my eyesight deteriorates. This dependency will keep me locked into using non-Faithlife resources if Faithlife chooses not to expand their audio support.

I finally got the Cortana voice to read any text in Logos and sometimes that is almost as good as some audio recordings. I am reading through a commentary on Leviticus, and without the read aloud feature, I would not be making the same progress.

I recently bought the NET2 Bible from another provider. In that software, the price of the NET2 text is more than the audio book, so I purchased the DRM free ebook from the publisher and I read the text on my Boox eReader. My first choice would have been to purchase both these items in Logos, but I was not given that option.

For those of us that need or want audio Bibles, it looks like we cannot consolidate, yet. Maybe that is a good thing. I don't know. All this hopping around from device to device and software to software makes me feel a bit crazy at times. But sometimes a device and/or software that is dedicated to a narrower range of features is a software that does what it does better than if it tries and fails to do it all.

I can understand and appreciate that. For the most part, I try to do the same. However, the audio controller in Logos is inferior to other products. Since there isn't any other advantage (that I am aware of) for having it "in logos" other than consolidation, I would utilize YouVersion. Plus, it is free.

I don't use the app much, but have you tried deleting it and reinstalling? That is the advice I frequently give for the Logos app, so it might apply there as well.
