B2 Potential bug - vertical layout, an atrocity
I had a dozen books or so open in 3 panels, and I thought it might be more efficient to rearrange them. In the Layouts window there is a layout called "vertical" which has 3 vertical panels, and that looked about right, so I clicked it. This is what I got. Was that supposed to happened? I doesn't look at all like the picture in the Layouts menu.

The windows version works the same way. I opened up the same amount of books you have open there in my Windows box and the behavior was similar. I think it has to do with screen size. perhaps if you had a really large screen or at least a very tall screen it would actually stick to three columns, but I think that if it were to be in three litteral columns none of the text would show so the program opts to not do that.

I'd like to actually confirm this as a bug, Windows or Mac. It just plain shouldn't do that, it should confine itself to three individual columns much as the "3 tiles" properly separates book types into ... well... three tiles.

The layout icon is not to indicate three litteral tiles but vertical tiles. The same with horizontal. If you would like a layout button that has three tiles I would post your suggestions via the following methods: Email suggest@logos.com; post it in the Suggestions thread; post it here: http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4
…Or open three books and select the vertical tiles button then add resources from the "new tab" button and arrange as you like.
To see the tooltips shown below if you hover over each tile you will see a tooltip that indicates the name of that layout.

We are also looking at new icon designs for "Horizontal" and "Vertical", though I don't know when they will be ready.

Ok, but in the scenario above, it didn't create any vertical tiles, regardless of the literal number that the icon may or may not represent. It created a checkboard of panels. And if readability is really the issue, um, well, I don't see how the current functionality accomplished that goal.
There might be room on my MacBook for 4 vertical columns, there's probably enough room for 3 vertical columns, and there's definitely room for 2 vertical columns, so there's really no reason to do the checkerboard thing. But even if the algorithm fails and decides there's no room for 2 columns, shouldn't it at least give me a polite warning that this layout won't really work on my machine? I mean, why give me a screen full of unusable mess?
