Smart Tags

I have been a Logos/Faithlife user since the beginning. I do a great deal of writing in Word and have relied on Smart Tags for a long time. I also use Microsoft 365 in Windows 10. Unfortunately, Smart Tags no longer work in my environment. I know I can utilize copy and past to add Biblical Text to my writings, but it simply is not near as convenient as right click to replace with the text.

Since Microsoft has appreciated Smart Tags are there any plans to create a solution like smart tags with the same or similar functionality? it would certainly make the use of Logos within Word much faster and simpler.

Thanks for any information or help.

Happy New Year!

Rich

This might help (I think it includes the right directions" Smart Tags (logos.com)

Microsoft has deprecated Actions (smart tags) in general, so there is no coming back for FL who had always stated that it was an unsupported Action.

I'm not sure what happened. We seemed to have lost Smart Tags in Word a few years back. Almost by accident, I discovered yesterday that Smart Tags now works again in Word 365. I am running the current update of Word 365 and the latest update of Logos 10. The ability to type in the Scripture reference, highlight it, then right-click and select Additional Actions/Replace with passage has returned, much to my pleasure!

This is encouraging news! I recently bought a new computer (HP Windows 11 Home 64Bit). I can't figure out how to move the dll script to the appropriate location in the Logos registry. Not sure if I said that right, either.

    Running PowerShell doesn't work.

Any tips or a link to where directions are posted would be gratefully received.

I guess for whatever reason Logos doesn't like us being able to use Smart Tags, as with the April 2024 update, the action is no longer available. It was good while it lasted--about a month or so!

Smart tags were deprecated by Microsoft years ago. Logos users found a way to keep using them but they often need to be set up again when Windows is updated.

it can be like that, but the reason lies with Microsoft. They are working with Microsoft 365 version 2403, Windows 11, Logos 33.0
