I have been in a situation to be the only person present when someone was dying. If I had known better what to do, that person's passing would have been easier. I was present. I tried as hard as I could. I tried to get outside help to come, but that failed. So in the end it was me and the dying person, and my best was not good enough.
That incident haunts me, and changed my life entirely. No matter what else I am pursuing, I am also always pursuing the knowledge and skills to try and do better if that ever happens again.
