Can someone suggest a way to transfer my version of logos software currently installed in the laptop hard-drive to an external hard drive?

Minimal effort/time is preferred.

thanks

Some options are discussed at https://wiki.logos.com/Install_in_different_folder_or_drive

Alternatively, you could completely deinstall / reinstall and specify your external drive as the Logos location.

This is not supported - and it would usually not be advisable, thinking the internal HD drive would be faster than the external one, and Logos performance heavily relies on fast disk I/O - unless you mean from an internal spinning HDD to an external SSD: this is still officially unsupported, but will usually work fine and speed up Logos (make sure the SSD is formatted in NTFS, not in ExFAT).

@  So, the moral of the story is that if you have a large library, don't try this at home, kids.

I think I know why it isn't supported.  It isn't that it won't work, it is just that it is quite slow and requires the patience of Job.

Certainly, Faithlife don't want complaints about slowness i.e. how it is connected to the computer. Also, certain things will not work unless the drive is formatted NTFS and you have to ensure the drive will remain connected with the same drive letter (Windows).
