Any ideas?
Many thanks.

Hi Tom,
With the caveat that I know nothing about 'Logs' other than a plain English reading of them...
I notice that prior to Logos failing your Console Logs show Safari having some trouble with a 'plug in'.
I know that Logos shouldn't be affected by such matters but wonder if the two are connected in some way.
Are you having any problems with Safari in use?
Does the plug in work in the way expected?

PS (no doubt KS4J ( who understands such things ) will keep us right.
Thanks for your help & suggestions Mike.
I tried disabling plug in (in Safari)
However L4 still does not open
Tom:
I see an exception in your logs but I don't know what it means. I'll post a bug for a dev to look at the logs.
It appears that the crash occurs while trying to show the "about resource" pane of one of your books. I am loathe to recommend this, lest others pick up this piece of advice and start trying to use it as a cure-all again…but deleting your layouts.db might do the trick in this case.
deleting your layouts.db might do the trick
where do I find this file?
Spotlight doesn't seem to bring it up / a quick look by me
(Thanks everyone for the help)
User-Library-Application Support-Logos4-Documents-(some random file)-Layout Manager- Layouts.db
David & Mike - thank you for your replies & help.
I tried deleting the 'layouts.db'
Results:
*Logos 4 opened fully - with no workspaces (as expected)
*Logos home showed up correctly
*when I tried to open a book from the library there was no response
*when I tired to open a various books as floating windows they each appeared grey with the title 'untitled'
So closer - but not operational as yet
I'll need more logs, then.
Here are the logs David.
the first reply to my initial post - reply by Mike Binks - mentioned a plug in error in my Safari:
I am not sure what error this is - as far as I know the only plug in I have is Rapport - a security programme that my online banking suggested installing - I assume this is not the cause of my problems.
Many thanks, Tom
woops....
here are the logs!

I think you may have forgotten to attach the logs. Any Safari problems in your logs are red herrings.
It looks like you're still experiencing the same issue, which may be related to a corrupted index. If you're plugged in and have some cycles to spare, you might try typing "rebuild index" in the command bar. In any case, we'll put this issue (high) in the queue.
David, rebuild seemed to work make L4 operational again...
*but sometimes an untitled window window shows up (an open floating window 'untitled' as if a book hasn't opened)
*a number of windows suddenly showed up empty within the main console (I have attached a L4error file which shows a screen shot)

I have also attached recent logs.

There is another issue that may not be connected:
in NIV 'display' button functions correctly, but there is no interlinear when one tried to get one.
