Okay, I messed myself up on the Kindle

When I went to get the Verbum 9.9.2 for my Kindle Fire, I received a notice that it would not automatically install - that I would need to manually install it and gave instructions for doing so. I got interrupted and now cannot get back to the instructions because I already own it. Anyone know the instructions for a Kindle?

It has been awhile since I did a manual install on a Kindle Fire after an app got stuck installing. I usually just do a total refresh and start over.

I think you use the USB charging cord to plug the tablet into a desktop computer.

I wiped my Kindle Fire again today. I put the Faithlife eBook reader on it, not Verbum.

I don't think these instructions apply. I think when a manual install is required, it is because there was an error during installation. At least I think that was the only reason that I ever needed to do one. I think manual installations were more common in the past, for large downloads.

MJ, have you ever installed Google playstore in a Kindle Fire? I have done this many many times. I always use the latest instructions by Android Police. I have watched videos at youtube as a supplement, but only use the final instructions from this website.

I have also installed the apkpure store on a Kindle Fire and then installed Logos or Verbum apps from this store. I have also just download apps without installing the playstore, but the apps don't always automatically update without the store.

In this particular case, the other Faithlife apps install automatically as they are labeled as compatible with my device. For the Logos/Verbum apps, they are labeled as incompatible with my device although on the surface it meets the operating system requirement. The instructions for manually installing it indicated that some functions might fail but did not specify what functions.

No, I haven't tried the Google playstore -- sounds like I should.

I cannot just run Kindle apps on my Kindle Fire right now. It is becoming increasingly common for Bible App makers to drop support for the Kindle Fire. I am very reliant on an app that I will not name.

The links I sent you are the ones that I feel safest using.

Right now, I chose to install Google again. Before that I was using the APK Pure app instead of adding the Google store. I think APK Pure and Android Police are the same people. If someone knows more than me, I would default to them, but after years of experimentation and watching trends, I feel safest with APK Pure and the Android Police Google store, for right now.

Good E-reader isn't keeping up, lately. I trust their intent, but they seem to be growing increasingly negligent and non-transparent. But still use them on my Chinese devices.
