Proverbs Explorer: Useful?

The more I use Logos, the less helpful I find it.  It is counterintuitive, difficult to use, and seems unable to provide basic information quickly.

Here's an example.  I spend some time in Proverbs every day, and decided to take another look at Proverbs Explorer.  I happened to be in Proverbs 11 today and focused on v.7.  I was reminded immediately of Proverbs 10:28, which uses the same words 'hope' and 'expectation'.  I thought I would look at Proverbs Explorer to track the theme of 'hope' in Proverbs.  I look under themes.  They are listed, not alphabetically, but in order of number of occurrences.  Which means I have to look through the entire list to find 'hope'.  Fortunately after several tries I located it.  In e-Sword or most other Bible programs I can search for a word in a particular book very quickly.  With Logos, it took at least 5x longer.

I would expect an expensive Program like Logos would do better.  This is one of many examples.  Which is why I only use it to access certain resources (going all the way back to Libronix) and a Bible Reading Plan (the 5 Day would not set up correctly and had to be reset).

I would just ask the Logos developers to consider simple improvements which would make it more accessible and useful to all.

Thanks for considering this!

Hi Mark - you can sort the themes alphabetically instead of by count as in the screenshot below. Just click on the "A-Z" link.

    Hi Mark,

Aside from the Proverbs Explorer it would be easy to do a theme search.

Right click any verse and look for the Pulpit symbol (1) and expand the list. Select the relevant theme and then select Bible Search (2).

This will launch a search window where you can narrow down your results to a specific book and translation.

    Hope this helps!
