I thought there used to be a way to take some sermon notes (example: Tabbed I. A. 1. a. and insert them into Power Point Slides. was I mistaken?

You can do this in Sermon Builder. Is that what you mean?
I think what you might be after is "Add slides from selected text" in the red box below
Any text you select whether it be plain text, bulleted, numbered, etc. will be added to a slide in that format. I selected the outlined text below and got this.
