hey.

new user. just setup beta 3. looking forward to the upcoming development.

i hope the devs will stay on top of speed performance. my first experience with beta 3 has been really rough. hardly able to scroll. everything is slow and stutters. i have a top of the line machine.  i am use to butter smooth performance in Accordance, so please devs take note of this post and make every effort to keep the speed performance up!  it changes the whole user experience.  all these resources at our finger tips.  all our money poured into the packages.  but we can't... quite.. seem.. to get to those resources we want so much.... type.... search... stutter.

if i go slow it seems to be ok.

thanks for your hard work.

I wholeheartedly agree.  The developers have done an amazing job of adding new features and fleshing out the UI, but speed performance is the main thing that keeps L4 Mac from being fun to use for me at this point.  I have never used the Windows version, so I don't know how much faster that is, or if it is possible that the end Mac product will be much faster than it is now.  I am really hoping so.  With all of the features of L4 and the unbeatable resource packages, "butter smooth performance" as you put it would make L4 Mac the total package.  Here's to hoping :)

The Alpha phase was for getting the features of the Windows version into the Mac App. During the Beta phase, the Dev Team should focus more attention on optimization which will bring speed increases.

Welcome to the Logos Mac gang.

Indeed some parts of Logos 4 are still a bit 'jerky' and scrolling does need some TLC.

I wonder if your installation has finished downloading and indexing? If it hasn't then performance can take a big hit until the process is completed.

'hardly able to scroll' is not the usual comment we find on the forum and many of us are able to do all our serious work using Logos.

If the problem persists please shout up. I probably have the lowest common denominator in a 2gig memory 13in Mac Book and I do not recognise the performance problems you describe. So if it remains so badly under performing it might be something that the developers want to investigate.

    hey. thanks for the input.

my install has indeed finished indexing. i also ran a disk utility and restart to clean up behind it.

surely its just because the devs haven't gotten to a point where they can sit and begin to optimize the performance. thats understandable. just glad to know they will be eager to do such as it comes time.

'hardly able to scroll' refers to being in a text and scrolling up and down through the window. its still very jerky and awkward at this point.  sure you could work, but it is slow. in fact everything you click, there is a fairly obvious pause until anything initiates.  it doent feel very natural when one is used to working quickly on fine, finished software on a mac.  again, thats ok at this point.  i understand. i am just expressing our eagerness for when the devs get that tuned up! to me its more valuable than features.  more features can always come later. quality of experience in everyday use makes the platform everything. it becomes comfortable... natural... it encourages you into the content and workspace. that is the kind of platform we will invest in because it shows there is extreme attention and concern for the software and platform.  and when a customer feels there is great concern for the development of a product, they know they can trust it for the long run, and will be comfortable to invest much money into it!!

cant wait to see how all the work turns out!  keep up the good work.
