Extra-biblical Greek usage resources sought

I seem to have acquired quite a number of Greek lexicons, dictionaries, and whatnot, nearly all at least ostensibly focused on the New Testament, but what I am looking for right now are resources where I can look up the meaning and usage of ancient Greek words (especially Koine Greek) outside the Bible, and I am having trouble identifying good resources in my Library for this purpose. It's also quite possible that all of the good resources for this purpose are outside of my library.

At any rate, what Faithlife-sold (and, if relevant, external-but-free) resources do y'all use for this purpose?

I guess I'm looking for something that achieves what Lewis & Short does for Latin, but for ancient Greek outside the Bible. And ideally with more information than Lewis & Short usually provides.

Steve Maling

Take a look at Brill's Ancient Greek Lexicon in Logos. It will give you a look into a wider corpus than Liddell and Scott and is also much more up to date.

You will also want to look at Lampe's Patristic Greek Lexicon, which is also available in Logos, for post New Testament developments.

I slipped with the title of Montanari's Brill's Dictionary of Ancient Greek. And I forgot Moulton and Milligan's Vocabulary of the Greek Testament dealing with usage in the Greek papyri.

I'm not sure you want words not in the NT, or sources of words not involving the NT.

If the latter, my favorite is MM, from the trash-heaps of Egypt. I always go there first.

Here are the ones I find useful, not in a particular order.

Brill's Greek-English Lexicon (the English translation of Montonari's lexicon mentioned earlier in the thread).
Moulton and Milligan (also mentioned earlier)
E.A. Sophocles' Lexicon (also mentioned earlier)
Lampe's Patristic Lexicon, which is styled as a Patristic supplement to Liddell & Scott.
The "Perseus Web Lookup" feature. (Right click, 'selection' in left context panel, scroll down in right until you see it)

BDAG is useful because it covers lots of non-NT stuff (the "other early Christian literature" from the title), but if I'm outside of the NT at this point I usually look to Brill's GE first.

Moulton & Milligan and E.A. Sophocles are probably the most reasonably priced (this is a guess, I haven't checked prices). In some recent research I was doing in some Greek OT Pseudepigrapha, I actually found Brill's GE very useful.

Thank you very much! The Sophocles, Lampe, and BDAG are all perfectly priced for me, as is the "Perseus Web Lookup" feature, which I didn't know existed.
