Mac Beta 3 Problem Opening Commentaries from Passage Guide

When I select a link to a commentary from Passage Guide:

1) The open text shows up in varying windows each time. I have five windows open on my desktop, each with several tabs. I cannot find any way to determine where a new resource is going to open unless I drag it over there. Sometimes it opens in the same window as passage guide, sometimes a different one.

2. I will frequently get the infamous spinning ball when I select a commentary from the PG or any other link in PG for that matter.

We are aware of the inconsistancy in which the program has windows open.

IT is very difficult to know why you are getting the Mac's "not responding" symbol. There are a lot of factors. Has the Passage Guide finished generating when you are clicking the Commentary? Do you have anything else open that might be using your computer's resources? If the passage is a long one your Exegetical Guide may still be attempting to generate the Word by Word. What are your system specs?

I should have been more descriptive. When I click on the link, I not always but often get the spinning ball. It does go away and Logos resumes normal functions. The Program does not quit or crash. It is just and annoying about 30 sec. or so delay about every other time.

I don't think it is due to a shortage of resources as I have a pretty hefty machine, as you can see in my signature. Doubt if Logos can use that much. Also don't think it is the passage guide still generating stuff, it has been open for several hours on that one text which is only one verse. Would a log help?

Is your PG search by itself or a part of teh search from the Home Page? What are you searching I'd like to try and reproduce.

The problem with PG was not searching. I had selected 2Th2:4 and was brousing through the comentaries. The text did not matter, it was the same for all. However, I did solve the problem. Instead of using the layouts form previous versions, I closed everything and made a new layout. That seems to have done the trick. Seems s like something in the old layouts were hanging things up. Does that make sense?

Layouts are a frequent cause of problems at the moment (especially when they are synced between platforms).

A fresh iteration is likely to improve matters.
