Question: Adding a link to Word doc in Favorites

I have a question for people who have Logos 4 on multiple computers on a network (like say your desktop and laptop). If I add a Word document link from one computer into Favorites, does it add a fully qualified computer name and sharename for the drive so the document can be accessed from the other computer, or does it just save a local filename and directory? If the latter, it seems like this is not very useful for those who have Logos on 2 computers - I can get to the documents a lot easier outside of Logos 4 then.

My experience has been that it adds the link based on whatever the path is for the file (the path you view if you right click the file icon and select properites) I guess you could try setting up a link manually with the additional path information (computer name, sharename, etc.) you want and see if it works.

OK this is so cool, I played around a little and this is how it works - I wonder if these things should be updated to the wiki?

1. If you drag a "local" document to the Favorites on Logos 4 on the same computer, then try and access that document from another install of Logos 4, it does nothing. Probably can't find it.

2. HOWEVER - if you access the document from across the network and drag it to Favorites, then it will work from Logos on any computer! For example, you have Desktop "A" and laptop "B ". The document you want accessible from both copies of Logos is on "A". Then go to "B", bring up Explorer's Network icons, find the file, and drag it into Favorites on B. Then, from A or B, you can access the file.

3. Note - if you run Logos as Administrator, drag and drop from Explorer will not work - you'll get the international No sign when you drag the file over Logos.

I was not able to find any way to modify the path name of a document once it's in the Favorites panel, luckily that's not needed.
