Could FL please stop this practice?
I have preordered products in the past and I've been charged at once full price. The volumes that are available download immediately and the ones in production download later when they're ready. Seems like a fair and win-win practice at first glance, right? Well, not so! Since I've been waiting over a year for other items that are not ready yet. But hey, at least I knew what I was getting into. Now, let's consider this other weirder scenario:
I tried to preorder this collection: https://www.logos.com/product/219756/mentor-expository-commentary and I asked if I would be getting right away the 4 volumes that are already available and I was told "No," that the entire 5 volume collection would be downloaded once it releases. I was advised to buy the volumes individually which not only it's more expensive, but they're already available in this other collection: https://www.logos.com/product/168421/mentor-expository-commentaries
Now, mind you, I already own one of the volumes (Galatians).
Here's the problem: Why can't I get the volumes that are already available with a dynamically prepub price of $74.47 instead of buying only 4, which doesn't include the volume on Deuteronomy for $70.37?
Does that even make any sense at all? I own 1 out the 5 volume collection or you can say I own 1 out of the 4 volume collection. Why should I pay $70.37 to get only 3 volumes, when I could pay $74.37 to get 4 in order to complete the collection?
Why sell 2 collections one cheaper at prepub price with one extra volume and another about virtually the same price but it doesn't include the new volume?
I would rather pay you the dynamically prepub price right now and get the volumes that are available right away, than just preoder and not get anything until later; especially, when in reality, later will only bring one volume that's currently in production (volume on Deuteronomy). It doesn't make sense, since you've already charged us at once for preorders that are not even complete yet (e.g. Lexham Geographical Commentaries, Discovering the NT, Lexham Context, etc.).
Please, be consistent. This is totally unacceptable!
Thanks!
