HALOT syntax for PB
Hi all,
I'm wondering if there's a syntax one can use to make a PB that will open HALOT, like there are greekStrongs:g, or greekGK:#, or Louwnida:@Ln:Ln?
Is HALOT using a GK system or something completely different, if anyone knows? What would be best way to tag a word so that it links to HALOT entry.
EDIT: surely it's not using GK as it's a system for Greek words, lol...anyways...I suspect it's not a Strongs Hebrew.

I'm guessing you're already familiar, googling 'site:wiki.logos.com' and a matching search term like 'louwnida@' to find a possible wiki article.
From that article (which lists examples but not HALOT), the best strategy (absent an answer), would be to find a HALOT reference and see how it's formatted.

yeah, nothing there
but my HAL shows only hebrew headwords as index...so I guess there's no specific HAL syntax it seems..
BDB shows Strongs, GK, greek headwords, and more...

well, Hebrew headwords (=lemmas) are a specific index. If you build them into your PB, and have HALOT prioritized as highest-ranking lexicon with the Hebrew headwords as index, then it will open.

Checking per the wiki, all the HALOT refs I found were page numbers!

well, Hebrew headwords (=lemmas) are a specific index. If you build them into your PB, and have HALOT prioritized as highest-ranking lexicon with the Hebrew headwords as index, then it will open.
Pasting a Hebrew lemma into your docx file will work, but a homonym like דּוּמָה will default to the first definition and a homonym form דּוּמָה:3 will not work. Use a specific URL for these.

I'm aware of tagging words with headword tag, and that will open whichever lexicon you have covering that word.
What I'm thinking is more in terms of when you have a book specifically saying something like (see LouwNida.3.14) I know that I can link to that res by using LN:LN3.14 syntax. I wonder if there's a way to directly go to HALOT's reference. I could of course copy all those references by hand but that would put me to the grave before I finished. I'm looking for a source text link solution something like [[father>>HALOT:HAL#4]] if that eve exists. Thank you all

You would have to convert the reference to being a resource link e.g. [[נָטָה >> https://ref.ly/logosres/bdb?hw=נָטָה]] which would appear as נָטָה ---> this is for BDB as I don't have HALOT
You could encode אָב as [[אָב >> https://ref.ly/logosres/bdb?art=lbdb.5.1]] or as [[father >> https://ref.ly/logosres/bdb?art=lbdb.5.1]] i.e. father
Note that (in BDB) the first was a headword link but 'father' was an article link - because it was subordinate to the main headword.

I've seen notes in NET Bible say BDAG 287, but Logos is not showing hoover info for BDAG. Using logos in web app did show a link that tried to open BDAG with 287 being a "page".
But I can't figure out how to link to that page myself from the PB res.
Any ideas?

It is the same method i.e.create a Wiki link (the Wiki option) e.g. [[ἄνθρωπος >> https://ref.ly/logosres/dblgreek?hw=ἄνθρωπος]] for DBL Greek - I don't have BDAG.
However, the primary index is DBLGreek i.e. [[DBL Greek 476 >> https://ref.ly/logosres/dblgreek?ref=DBLGreek.DBLG+476]], so put the lemma into that i.e. [[ἄνθρωπος >> https://ref.ly/logosres/dblgreek?ref=DBLGreek.DBLG+476]]
For LSJ the direct lemma link is [[ἄνθρωπος >> https://ref.ly/logosres/lsj?hw=ἄνθρωπος]]
But [[ἄνθρωπος >> https://ref.ly/logosres/lsj?ref=Page.p+141&off=10070]] uses the page number (141)! Another lemma on the same page is [[ἀνθρωπόμῑμος >> https://ref.ly/logosres/lsj?ref=Page.p+141&off=8664]].
Ensure the page number is in the Reference Box, with the lemma at the top of the panel.
