Afraid i may have Lost some of my personal books
I had been keeping some personal books and wasn't having any problems till I broke the laptop they were on and now I fear that since I didn't back those books up on the cloud that the contents of most of my books are just going to have to be deleted but before I do i thought I should ask to make sure.

Sorry to hear this.
Do you have access to the disk where your Logos files were originally stored.
Do you have access to, or backups of, the Word files from which your personal books were made?

If the hard disk survived and can be removed they can often be put into a cheap enclosure and accessed as an external drive on a replacement machine.
Once the backups have been installed on the new machine one can still use the now external drive as backup to ones cloud storage.
Don't let this lesson be wasted.

All the files were on a laptop that I own and still have the problem is I had smashed the screen and ruined the keyboard. The motherboard and memory card however are undamaged. I can't believe it still even though I was the one that tripped and fell onto it.

It may be worth trying to connect it to an external monitor and keyboard if you have access to them
