While looking over the page scans, I noticed, as was common in books printed in this era, that some words which begin with "s" or have the letter within them have instead an "f". I also noticed several words that began with a capitalized "W" had instead two "V's" close together.
I'm not familiar with how Logos has handled these things in the past, but can we expect some form of updated spelling for these words? Or will Logos just type the printed word exactly as it is?
Either way, this set has my bid!

I believe in prior instances Logos has updated the spelling. But the question remains valid and I would like to hear a decision from Logos on this.
Uh oh...

Note that last phrase regarding some of this being in the original Latin. I speak, read and know - about zero Latin. "annals" which is the one book I was really interested in is really in Latin, not english. The value of this set has just dramatically dropped for me, I'm sorry folks - my bid is minimum on this one.Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

That's a pretty high percentage.

[:(] Yeah, that's too bad.
The only volume I really care about getting " Annals of the World" is Latin. [:(]

I had bid $50 - but when I saw the later comments about Latin being the dominate language, I withdrew my bid entirely. Sorry.

Perhaps we should suggest a Latin auto-translation function?
Too bad neither Google Translate nor Babelfish support Latin translation.

C'mon, Guys and Gals...
daunted by a little Latin ? .......... for shame ... If one has a decent-sized Logos Library, he will find that Latin in is used in many places; and some of it you can even pick up by osmosis! e.g. I appreciate those of you who post a "all glory to God" in the Latin in your signatures ... *smile*
Just raised my bid to $90 U.S. and hopefully there will be a lot of you that will not "panic"!
Or talk yourself out of a great deal!
Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........

I kept my bid, but it's low.

I wonder if any of the Latin links to other books in one's library? This could be somewhat useful.
Latin is all Greek to me

Must admit, I wanted to get these but then saw the bit about Latin and thought again. The only thing I can remember about Latin stems from early school days years ago, learning about some chap called Caecilius living with his family in Pompeii. Oh, and the fact that in my school report my tutor wrote "I ban Chris from Latin for the rest of his life." So, it's a "no" from me then.

Me, too. I'm in and staying in. I'm actually planning to go back to school and they have some Latin classes. Considering Ussher's level of scholarship it seems definitely worth it.

I have been on both sides of the fence on this...several times. I was excited at first, because I had heard of his extensive work in chronology...An area I would like to explore, But I don't have the patience to spend years drudging through genealogies. I am curious about the charts...If I could understand them with no knowledge of Latin? I may bid again just for the privilege of checking it out with the option to return it. If the charts are usable, They would be worth the price of the whole set.
