Inline search - drop down menu disappeared
I'm using Mac Catalina.
When you open the inline search, it sometimes gives you a dropdown menu so that you can select between "sentence," "paragraph," or "article." However, some books don't appear with the options, so when you search for some words, it shows you a whole paragraph rather than a simple sentence.
1) See the below picture. This is an example of not showing the dropdown menu, so as you see, when you search a word, you have to read a whole paragraph.
2) there is a dropdown menu on the right side. So, you can see the result more simple way.
I prefer the latter one because you don't have to read a whole paragraph and find the word quickly, but how can I add the drop-down menu on the first one if you don't see the option.
Are there any options that I can search a word or words through inline search so that you can see only sentences rather than a long paragraph?

This is a function of the book and its tagging. Generally, the options appear on resources that have a Bible index. (No, that's not the whole story but it works well as a rule of thumb.)
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

It seems like this ability is absent from Personal Books built as Bible Commentary? Can someone confirm?

It seems to be so - at least I don't remember any tagging that could be used. There might be a sentence-on / sentence-off tag (like lectionaries have a bible-on / bible-off), but I don't think I ever saw such a thing used for a PB commentary.
Have joy in the Lord!
