Note Files

does anyony know if Logos 4 is considering modifying the note files in Logos 4? I have found that the menu for note taking in Libronix was more convenient. for instance, once I select a text the menu gives me several options such as "add note to selection, or add note to the given passage and so on.

however, in LOGOS 4 the notes always go to the last note file that was open. this makes the process of creating a new note file quickly rather cumbersom.

wondering if someone can give me some practical suggestions?

I am not yet currently familiar with the office one note program (guess I need to change that).

Abraham,

To my knowledge a massive rewrite of notes is not planned.

There is some flexibility in notes in L4 that you may not realize.

First notice that the menu you receive on a right click has a left 1/2 and a right 1/2. It works like Hebrew, from right to left. [:)] First select where your note will go (reference, selection, lema, etc.) Then you can click your note file to create a note.

Second:

The note file available on that page will be the one most recently opened, or will be a list of all your currently open note files.

I too do not know if Logos is planning on updating L4 notes. If you search the forum, you will find a lot of posting about notes in L4. I personally believe notes in L4 was a huge step backwards from the notes in L3. I cannot use notes in L4, so I continue to use L3 with the hope (dream?) that the note portion of L4 will someday become as functional as it was in L3.

Tom, Could you list the differences that you're missing in L4 v L3. I honestly never used notes more than a dozen times in L3 so I'm not fit to comment. What are the differences you're missing?

Tom, I'm not Tom [;)], but I think the main issues remaining are:

inability to insert graphics including tables and other textual "graphics"
lack of a Table of Contents or something similar for note selection
ability to expand / contract a single note rather than a note file
for some people, performance speed is an issue.

Thanks Martha, I knew about the performance speed one, but I can see the need for the other too.

As I said, since I rarely used L3's notes I was unaware of the diffs.
