B3 - Help file still Windows specific

Aw man... why is it always me finding the Windows/Mac difference stuff Wink Oh well.

The help file needs updating I don't think the keyboard shortcut to close L4M is Alt+F4

Also, and this is how I found this, in the help for list of commands it does not mention "Update Now", stops at "Uilang"

Mmmm - but we're now up to beta. Beta usually means "feature complete". Any extra functionality/changes introduced runs risk of introducing new issues. Yes it's only the help file, and shouldn't be a problem... but stranger things have happened.

In this case, Beta may mean, "Please put away the pitchforks and torches". [:D] The Mac Dev team has made tremendous progress, but "feature complete" is a moving target. Even the Windows version is continually adding new features and is currently at 4.1 Beta 3. "Feature complete" for both versions may occur sometime in 2011, but I personally hope Logos will continue innovation even beyond that.

I agree that L4M is progressing - was not saying it wasn't. The term 'feature complete' is being used in the programming sense, when the scope of the application features is set, a line drawn in the sand so to speak, they are coded for and then the goal of a beta program is to squash bugs in application up to that scope. Once bugs are got rid of to an acceptable level (for example no 'stop ship' bugs like corruption or deletion of data files) then the application goes production.

Yes, and one hopes, and is sure, there will be continual development on the Mac version. But it is not a continual 'moving target', but more a case of specific goals being set and reached, and then new goals being set and reached and so on.

So, strictly speaking, the current beta is not feature complete, and I was (correctly) surprised to see that something was missed. The help files are no big deal, I just trust there is nothing else (critical) missing from what should be a feature complete beta.

In that case don't try to import notes from L3 as Mac can't do that yet. Notes are there just they are not completely finished yet, as Cameron has warned!

Logos doesn't operate this way. On the Windows side each new beta introduces new functionality, at least in the early versions in the Beta cycle.
