[Question] Is there tool for checking validity of index(es)

Was wondering, given the critical nature of indexes in Logos (Mac and Win), if there was a utility - command line or otherwise - to check the validity/health of index(es).

If someone suspected that their index was corrupt it would be nice, if possible, to run something to check state of the index(es). That is of course if it was quicker to check the index than recreate it.

Obviously a dialog box type UI to report to user would be the most nice.

Sorry Patrick, to my knowledge there is no such tool in userland.  But I understand there is parity checking within the program to ensure the index is good - a bad index will force a rebuild (normally).

The evidence  of a bad index would be either:

A) your logs will implicate the index in a crash report.

  Your results will come up really weird when running searches.  That is to say, that running a search on "THE" will also return results on "piglets" or something like that.  :-)

If either of those were to occur, manually running the command "rebuild index" would fix the problem.
