Feedbear stupidity I shouldn't have to put up with

Some things are so obvious that I can't believe they weren't checked before implementation. I wrote a suggestion for a book only to have my work ERASED as well as refused for an inappropriate word. The work? Christ's Descent Into Hell: John Paul II, Joseph Ratzinger, and Hans Urs von Balthasar on the Theology of Holy Saturday by Lyra Pitstick

Sloppy testing before implementation and lack of forethought on requirements. I am not impressed.

That is indeed stupid. Having fixed lists of words that should be banned in posts on certain forums is bound to come up with cases where it's inappropriate.

I'm in a Facebook group for Italian Learning on Duolingo, and for a while it was banning people's posts mentioning the Italian grammatical construct "clitics" because of the first four letters of that word spelling the shortened form of a body part that some consider unmentionable in public. To test that that was the reason for the blockage, I tried to post something mentioning shitake mushrooms, and sure enough, I got blocked. A similar thing happened in a gardening group I heard about. Any time someone mentioned the three-letter word for a certain garden tool, it would get banned, presumably because its first two letters spelled a derogatory word for a woman.

FB obviously isn't checking for "whole word" when it blocks "bad words". Hmmph.
