multi tile layout - open new window in certain tile
Hello
I have a layout with 3 tiles(A; B and C ... screen split in 2 columns and one column split horizontally in 2).
I would like it that new window opens in tile C, but unfortunately new windows seem to only want to open in A and thus I always have to manually "drag" them into tile C.
Is there a way to predetermine in which tile a new window will open? Could - for example - a Bible automatically open in tile A, Dictionaries in tile B, Tools in tile C?

Sorry, no.Is it really arbitrary which tile in a multi tile layout is being "preferred" by the software for opening another book? I would think there has to be some rule or preference depending on the layout in use according to which the software picks a tile where it then opens the book.
If one knew the rule, one could perhaps arrange one's tiles on the screen in a way to achieve the desired result, e.g. book opens always in top left tile, book opens always in last added tile to a layout, opens always in largest tile, etc ...Has anyone noticed a certain "software behavior"? perhaps even knows the design of this software procedure?

Hi Wolfgang
In his extensive reply JT has given you almost all the information available and a precise answer to your question. Well perhaps the word 'Sorry' was an unnecessary ornament?
However you might like to know that if you do not double click on a resource but drag it, say from the Passage Guide, you can drop it almost anywhere you want.

I almost went back in and added this, but his post mentioned not wanting to drag.
I agree that there should be some sort of method. Really, it's kind of a drag.
With "drag" I was referring to dragging the open book from the tile where it opened to the tile I would have liked to have it open.
I do know about opening a book by dragging the link instead of double click, but this does not apply to the PB Tool and the "open" link when adding or editing a PB in the list ... My apologies, I should have mentioned this detail of my scenario in the original post.
Thanks for the replies and various information.
