Making Notes from Books Not in Logos

Is there a way to make a note in Logos from a book outside of Logos? I am trying to centralize my notetaking and Logos is where I make most notes. I tried to create a note in Logos based on a quote I read in another book. I though I could create an anchor with the books name, so that the book name would be on top. That doesn't work.

Am I wasting my time? What do others do in this case?

I use the sermon builder for this.

It would be nice to use the note feature for this.

If I wanted to do this I would make a NoteBook for that specific external resource (name the notebook whatever is appropriate).

You can add an additional ta, again as appropriate.

No way to anchor it to that external resource that I know of but you "could" consider the tag as a type of anchor I suppose.

I do this frequently for books on my Kindle app. Using an iPad, I first copy the text from Kindle, then open Logos, create a note and then paste the text into that note. I can then anchor the text to a verse, or tag it. I also make sure that I include a cite from the book so I later can tell where it came from (or, as Roy noted, you could create a separate notebook with the name of the source and keep everything from that source in that notebook). Granted, all of this requires a few additional steps, but, like you, I prefer keeping as much as I can in Logos.

Hello James,

I do the same as John LeBlanc above.

If it's a paper book (instead of Kindle or PDF), I open Logos notes on my phone, and snap a picture of the page. It's not ideal, as an image in a note is not searchable, so below the image, I add a few of the important words from the text. I also tag it or anchor it to a verse, as I would with a Kindle book. I then snap a picture of the cover of the book (rather than writing out a citation), so each note like this has at least two images.

I do something like @Maria does, except I use the iPhone/iPad camera's text recognition to capture the text and then just paste that into the note.
