Kindle App Shutting Down
This afternoon my LOGOS Kindle App is shutting down immediately after starting up. It opens for two or three seconds and then shuts down. No error message is displayed.
Anybody else seeing problems in Kindle or Android devices?
Blessings,
Floyd

Yes the app for Kindle is loading slowly and crashes repeatedly; something needs to be done to remedy this problem.

I did a little troubleshooting and found that one may need to install an update for Kindle to function properly.Floyd Johnson said:This afternoon my LOGOS Kindle App is shutting down immediately after starting up. It opens for two or three seconds and then shuts down. No error message is displayed.

Where can I find the logs when the app crashes on starting up?

Can't get to logs as app never opens.

How were you able to update if system crashes immediately upon opening?Jan Krohn said:Where can I find the logs when the app crashes on starting up?

You've got real problems. I'm not tech support, but my thought is to delete app and reinstall. Hope this helps. Edit: I'm on Kindle Fire HD 8 (10th generation) OS 7.3.2.2. Having no issuesNorman Cubbage said:Can't get to logs as app never opens.

Maybe it was a Fire OS update.
Perhaps if everyone would suffix their reply with the exact details of the action (version numbers, etc.), it might help others evaluate what has been tried.

You're right and I piecemeal have attempted to put this right. When I initially referred to updating I was referring to the OS.Robert M. Warren said:Beloved Amodeo said:How were you able to update if system crashes immediately upon opening?

Did some checking uninstalled. Reinstalled started downloading Lexham Bible Dict and the app started crashing.

I think your issue was affected by initiating the LBD download when the reinstall had not fully completed. This is a guess. From here, I would call Tech Support.Norman Cubbage said:Did some checking uninstalled. Reinstalled started downloading Lexham Bible Dict and the app started crashing.

Okay, I managed to send a log now by tapping faster than the app was able to crash.

Uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times and limited download of resources and the app is working for now.

I have the strong suspicion that the video resource from the free book of the month is the culprit.

I got the solution from Antonio Cedillo from FL support. On Android devices, paste the following link into the Google app (not the browser, not Chrome, but the actual Google app): logos.com/mobile/layout/default
Of course the Google app doesn't work on Kindle Fire, so I made up the following workaround:
Go to the app settings, look for the Logos app, and configure it so that links to logos.com are opened in the Logos app, and not the browser. Then click the link in the Silk browser. It doesn't work when the link is pasted into the URL bar, but it needs to be clicked. So I'll make a clickable link here: https://logos.com/mobile/layout/default
