I HATE IT
Yes, I have given myself nearly two years to get used to it. It is STILL the biggest obstacle to the smooth use of Logos/Verum ... and the biggest generator of unwanted panels. I type into the command box "Open NRSV to Acts 22:3", hit enter, and Logos opens Factbook to Open Road Integrated Media. Yes, I understand why it does but is it literally IMPOSSIBLE to simply execute the command as entered when it is fully specified and correct before turning to the selection list for an alternative.

I see your frustration and agree the present execution is less than optimal. It appears the Bible prioritization is one reason that one is unable to execute this simple command. If the NRSV is your preferred Bible it will appear in the drop down menu by default as your "preferred" Bible and you may select it. It would make more sense that whatever version you type in the Command Box be the Bible appearing in the drop down menu.
The Factbook domination is another issue altogether. I don't like this either. Hopefully the L10 testers are hard at work on issues such as these.

I agree with MJ. If I type a Bible version and a Scripture address, I most definitely do not want Factbook. If I want Factbook, I can use one of the links that appear all over my toolbar.

Command open nlt includes Resources in drop down selection (with Tool Factbook annoyance having higher priority)
Worse is command open nlt php4.4 that does not have a drop down choice for opening NLT to Philippians 4:4 (so command is useless)
Preferred Bible in this installation is LEB, which appears as a Search option.

Humm,
When I tried this in Logos (I do not use Verbum) I did not wait for the spinner to finish (did not wait for the drop down) but straight way hit enter, I got the open bible.
Maybe not having the dropdown choices to choose from forced the system (for me) to default to opening the Bible?
If I would wait for the dropdown then I would have had as my 1st choice the same "Open Road Integrated Media" as you received.
I do however understand your point and agree.

I don't have Verbum.... and it does not work for me. NKJV is my Bible of choice.......

Squirrelly indeed! I tried it several times. Most of the times it did exactly as MJ described. But twice, it opened the NRSV to the requested passage.

Don't forget that what comes up is dependent upon what you have been using recently. I most often have Factbook interfering with an accurate command ... but after I've been working a while it may shift to putting the resource first and then work as I expect/want/demand.

And as I say in my response to SineNomine, the use of click-bait was considered and intentional to get the attention of a particular subset of forum users who have their own frustrations but may not recognize the problem with a short descriptive phrase required by the title.

You don't really need to get the attention of forum users on this issue, though. It's Faithlife that you need to get through to. Using "ATTN FL" as a prefix sometimes works. But saying "I HATE IT" is most likely to only attract forum users who like to banter. FL is probably more likely to ignore a thread like this than one with a meaningful subject line.
I can see that what you posted about is a frustration. I used to get frustrated whenever I typed a resource short title and hit Enter right away (without waiting for the selection list to populate) when Logos would open the wrong resource.
I don't personally use the "open" command to open resources directly to a reference. I find it quicker and more logical (to my mind) to simply type nrsv <Enter> (actually, for my most commonly used bibles, nrsv and niv, I just click my toolbar shortcut icon for whichever one) and then immediately type the reference I want into the reference box.

I already have brought the issue to the attention of FL and added a suggestion to Feedbear. I'm sorry you don't approve of my use of a rhetorical device, but I can't honestly say it won't happen again if a similar situation arises.

I've found myself struggling not to post quite a lot of "Please stop using clickbait titles" posts in many, many threads over quite a long time, so I've decided to try a more passive campaign by putting the message in my signature for awhile. I've never used the command box with the intention of opening the Factbook... in fact, I rarely (borderline never) use/select/open the Factbook from any source/location. But using the command box as MJ noted (and using "to" as part of the command) still opens the Factbook!

You wait until the options show, then select the one you want (e.g. opening a bible rather than the factbook) and execute it. Do this consistently - which means at least five times in a row - and the menu will learn that you prefer the resource over factbook. So is it in my installation, when entering the string by MJ, opening the NRSV is the top choice for me.

It is the groups which are ordered based on recent usage, not the individual entries. That means if you recently have tended to use the command box to open tools, then the "Tools" group will be first. If you have tended to open resources, then the "Resources" group will be at the top.

Sooo... how can we go thru the "act of Congress" to get that changed? Personally, I don't want Factbook to ever come up first... If I want Factbook...I would like only to have to choose Factbook itself... because I use "Tools" a lot for other functions... i.e. Personal Books....
