Is it possible/cost-effective to add a spell check capability to the Forum composition area?
It's already there. Mistakes are automatically underlined with a red wavy line, as in MS Word. (I should have said dotted line. [:S])
Right-clicking the error offers correct alternatives which can be selected.
Interesting. I don't get the red dotted line on mine. On the other hand, I do have a Spell Check icon which you don't seem to have.
When I click it, it offers to install ieSpell. So maybe you already have that installed, but I wonder why you don't have the ABC icon?
Thomas, do you have the ABC icon? If not, try switching to the Enhanced content editor:
The enhanced editor gives you some extra features: font color (1) and background color (2):
The Standard content editor does have the spell check option, but maybe your content editor is set to Plain Text which doesn't have any of those toolbar options at all.

Maybe it's because I'm using Safari on a Mac? I assumed the forum website would be the same. [*-)]

Yes, Spell checking on textboxes is a function of the browser. I know Safari and Firefox have this function "baked in." There might be an addin available for the other browsers, a simple Google search would answer the question based on the particular browser the OP is using.
I'm using Windows and I don't have a Spell Check icon either. I do however get the dotted line. In fact most of the words I'm writing at the moment get a wavy red line. Any idea how to switch the Spell Check from Dutch to English?
Edit:
I didn't see Kevin's post. I'm using Firefox.

Firefox might have an addon to customize what spell check dictionary it uses. I looked at the program options and it looks like it follows the interface language you've downloaded. You might download an English version of Firefox and only use it for the forum or any other place you'll be communicating in English. (You might have to go with a portable version to avoid overwriting your main installation)
Thank you very much! I have a Hebrew version of Firefox on my laptop so I'll try it out before installing the English version on my main computer.
