crashing

I'm using Logos 4 Beta 3 on a Macbook pro. I have started having random crashes when using the program. I have not changed any settings and have it set all to the default, including the layout. I cannot reproduce the crash as it happens at different times, but most recently occurred when reading from a commentary and scrolling.

I've had the same problem for a couple of months. I took my Mac to the Genius Bar thinking there was something wrong w/my Mac. The individual looked at my processor usage and found that Logos was zapping most of my dual core processor so he suggested pausing the indexing by clicking on the icon at the top tool bar and pausing it (it will pause for 4 hours at a time). This has helped some but I am still having crashes. They have slowed since updating to Beta 2, but still occur. Hopefully someone can provide a more permanent solution.

Idea: since indexing takes hours, rebuild index when anticipating many hours of non-use (e.g. sleeping or activities during day).

Rebuild Index command => restart Mac => watch for Blue icon in menu bar.

While indexing, can open indexer.log to watch Bible Index, Catalog Index, and Library Index progress.

Logos Indexing is processor and disk intensive along with using lots of available memory - may want to restart Mac after indexing completes.

Next time you have a crash try posting your logs on the forum so that the developers can inspect them. They can usually figure out what needs to be done to fix the issue permanently.
