Corresponding Selection highlighting difficult to see for the visually impaired

I love the Corresponding Selection Visual Filter, which lets you select text in a Greek or Hebrew Bible and see how it is translated in one or more English Bibles.

But the gray highlighting is difficult to see for users who are visually impaired. In this example, I highlighted an English phrase and the corresponding Greek phrase is highlighted in a light gray which is hard for many users to see.

Unfortunately, Logos does not fully use the settings in Windows Themes, such as the use of high contrast colors. To make matters worse, if you use a high contrast color theme, the Corresponding Selection highlighting in Logos becomes invisible! Windows has an official color in the high contrast color scheme for highlighting, but Logos ignores it and sticks to gray, which is invisible on a dark gray background. Here is the same Corresponding Selection with Windows High Contrast settings. As you can see, this is even worse, since the Greek selection is invisible. It is of no use to someone who set up a high contrast color theme due to visual impairment!

Unfortunately, the Logos 9 Dark mode theme is not of much use either. The corresponding selection can be barely seen on the Greek text even if someone has good eyesight, but it would be useless to someone with visual difficulties, even normal aging eyes. Notice how pale the selection is on the Greek side.

Suggestion:

  1. I would like to see Logos add to the Accessibility section of the Program Settings an option for high contrast highlighting. This should be used with the Corresponding Selection Visual Filter as well as for search results. Ideally there should be an option for System Settings, standard and high contrast.
  2. Even if this Program Settings option is not added, the Dark Mode theme should use a color scheme with more contrast. Perhaps a color should be used other than gray.

I totally agree about the need for this. Dr. Hahne, those are some great suggestions that I would benefit from.

I support that, but use https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-desktop-app
